SwampQueen Palette Review

Hello Everyone!

I just want to start off this post by saying that I in no way am a makeup professional. I am not that great at makeup at all! I am basically doing this post to share my thoughts and show love and support to Grav3yardgirl. That being said, lets begin. 🙂

Recently Bunny Meyer, also known as Grav3yardgirl partnered up with Tarte Cosmetics to create the oh so sassy fabulous palette “Swamp Queen.” I have been a swamp member since 2013 and have witnessed the amazing journey Bunny has had with her youtube channel. She has been a role model and inspiration to me and one of the few beauty/fashion gurus I follow on youtube. It bothers me so much how we are basically neighbors living in the same Houston area yet I have not had the opportunity to run into her or meet her. </3

“Over the last 5 years, YouTube sensation Grav3yardgirl’s down to earth, larger than life personality has inspired a Swamp Family of millions to embrace their own version of beautiful; and her positive message around anxiety & bullying has encouraged fans to love & accept onself & others.”

This palette was made with Bunny’s favorite colors, each shade labeled as something that evokes her personality and likes.

Since I wear glasses I tend to go for eye makeup that is very neutral with shades of browns and pinks, when I saw the colors of this palette I knew it will be perfect for me. I decided to try 3 different eye looks.

First eye look has the three different shades:IMG_8119

  • Natural Peaches– used as a base shadow.
  • Dogman– used to carve the crease and darken the outer corners.
  • #SFS– used at the center of the lid to reflect light.

My favorite between the three will definitely have to be Dogman because of how strongly pigmented it is. The more you apply the darker it looks from a burnt orange to a deep red. I applied it not too strongly on the creases of my eyes to give it a more natural feel.

Second eye look has the three different shades:IMG_8120

  • Big Baby– used as a base shadow.
  • Sippy Sippy– used to carve the crease and darken the outer corners.
  • Sassy Bun– used at the center of the lid to reflect light.

At first my favorite shade between the three was “sippy sippy” but after wearing these colors a few times I have to say “sassy bun” is my favorite. I love the way it shines and the tone of orange it has. I am actually a bit disappointed at “sippy sippy” because there is always a lot of fallout and the glitter bits never stay on the crease.

Third eye look has the three different shades:IMG_8122.JPG

  • Haunting– used as a base shadow.
  • Mancat– used to carve the crease and darken the outer corners.
  • Uncommon– used at the center of the lid to reflect light.

Honestly this is the first time I use “uncommon” and “mancat” since I mention before I am more of a neutral/brown towns kind of gal. However, I am extremely impressed with this look! It will be perfect for an evening type of look and I decided to add more highlight on my cheeks as well as the inner corner of my eyes using “Gator Wings”

*Side Note* I was channeling my inner Grav3yardgirl by wearing her favorite color Camo and a sassy bun! The Palette comes with a brown shade to contour called “Sweet Tea” a pink blush shade called “Does this thing really work?” and an amazing highlight named “Gator Wings.” I have put my “My Sculpted Face” by ItCosmetics aside and used these three shades to work miracles on my face. Not only does it smell Vanilla yummy but it gives my face a great definition. THE HIGHLIGHT IS EVERYTHING! ❤

Last but not least I have to list my Honorable mentions of the other stuff I used on my face. For Concealer I used NYX color correcting concealer before my foundation. For Foundation I used the Loréal, INFLLIBLE  pro-matte foundation in shade 105. I used the Ray of Light wand concealer by SEANNA to correct around my brows and lips, I also applied it beneath my eyes. Finally for my Lips I used the Kat Von D liquid Lipstick in shade LOLITA.

Thank you so much for reading all of this if you did! Like I said before I am not a MUA I am just sharing my personal thoughts and trying something a little bit new on my blog! Please let me know if you think I should continue with this. Don’t forget to follow me on all my social media ❤ PS. Not sponsored lol okay I’m Done bye

I know you said you aren’t a pro but your makeup looks SO good! I grew up in east Texas so I have a penchant for camo myself! 🙂
